Valentine’s Day is the day dedicated to love. This is the day all about spoiling your loved one and spending time together. Who says your Valentine can’t be your dog! From belly rubs to buying them their favorite chew toy, our fur babies deserve a little loving too!

Here are a few ideas to spend Valentine’s Day with your dog!

Go for a walk

Do something they enjoy and go for a nice, scenic walk. Walking on the beach or around a lake, your pup will be over the moon happy.

Read a book them

*Bonus points if it’s animal themed* Curl on the couch with a cozy blanket and your dog. Spending time together is precious; this is a simple and easy way for bonding. Plus who doesn’t love a good book!

Buy them their favorite treat or toys

Dogs unfortunately cannot consume chocolate but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat them to their favorite snack. Spread the love and buy them their go to treat or toy! Valentine’s Day themed, the better! Pinterest has creative and safe ways to make delicious doggie smoothies or ice cream.

Watch a movie or show together

Does your pup love to cuddle on the couch with you? Turn on the Hallmark Channel and watch a sappy love movie. Bonuses if there’s a dog lead character in it as well! Want to make it animal themed? Turn on Netflix or Disney Plus and choose an animal or dog themed movie.

Have a doggy spa night

If your pup loves bath time, this is a fun way to get them squeaky clean plus relaxed! Lather them up with dog friendly bubbles or their normal shampoo. Add a little doggie massage while you’re applying the shampoo; this will help release tension and stiffness. If your dog is courageous and is not terrified of the blow dryer, set the dryer to low and gently brush them while drying; talk about soothing!

Clean their bedding and toys

With daily schedules and work, we tend to forget to do our pet’s laundry when doing ours. Today is the perfect day to clean their bedding and their stuffed animals. After they’re cleaned, place a new toy or treat on it. They can go to sleep happy with clean bedding and a new toy!
